The signature
of the seven year covenant
With the event of Daniel 9:27: ” And he shall
confirm a covenant with many for
one week." begins
the countdown of the final events of the end times. ”in the middle
of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the grain offering to cease” (Dan.9:27b) One
7 year covenant has been fostered already known as the ”Oslo Accord" or
the ”Declaration of Principles" signed by Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat
on September 13th, 1993. Many are confused and think this has been
the covenant which Daniel refers to, but
it misses a detail. Daniel quotes that the covenant will be ”with many" but
the Oslo accord was signed only between Israel and one Arab country-to-be, Palestine,
so it is not the said covenant, even if it also was for a period of 7 years.
Remember Isaiah: not even a single detail can miss. Because of having made a
covenant of peace, between Israel and neighboring peoples, for a seven years period
and which was broken in the middle of the week, i.e. after 3 ˝ years, the scattering of the power of holy
people ” that it shall be for a time, times, and a half. And
when they have made an end of scattering the power of the holy people, all
these things
shall be finished" (Dan.12:7b) can only start in the middle of
the week. No one fights or destroys a member during a covenant. If the covenant
was broken it is because the covenant was kept until then. It was a covenant
for peace, because there is no covenant for war, therefore, peace remains in
force for the first 3 ˝ years. The beginning of the destruction of a member of a
covenant marks the breaking of it, and the mark of the rupture of this covenant
is by removing the daily sacrifice and placing the abomination of devastation: ”And forces will stand for him, and
they will profane the sanctuary fortress. And they shall remove the regular sacrifice, and they will
place there
the abomination that causes horror.” (Dan.11:31) Because of the circumstance that the
Jews do not sacrifice today implies that the construction of the Temple, which
allows them to sacrifice, will be part of this covenant.
The various escapes
of Israel
One issue that gave me some headache was the escape of Jews from Jerusalem and
Judea. It is known, in history, that the Jews who remembered the words of
Jesus, especially the believers: ”But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then
know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the
mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who
are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance
