Preface
I based my
shift FROM PRETRIBULATIONISTY TO POST-TRIBULATIONIST FROM conclusions only on
studies of biblical passages. Only after I had drawn my conclusions and had
written the core of this book I searched and found others that share, in good
part, my conclusions. That means there is no need for anyone to read my book to
come to the same conclusions. Below is a clear demonstration of the applied
method.
John reports:” And I looked when He opened the
sixth Seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black
as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven
fell to the earth"(Rev.6:12-13a),
and completes the vision of the 6th Seal with and (the unbelievers
inhabitants of the earth)" said to the
mountains and rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on
the throne and from the Wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His Wrath has
come, and who is able to stand?”(Rev.6:16-17)"And
immediately after the affliction(/tribulation)
of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken."(Matt.24:29) No doubt, Matthew
describes this same event and gives us an additional information, the event
that precedes it: ”after the affliction(/tribulation) of those days". But what affliction/tribulation is
this? Matthew didn’t let us uninformed about this either: ”For then there will be great affliction(/tribulation), such as has not been since the beginning
of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be." (Matt.24:21) If “there will be great affliction(/tribulation), such as has not been since the beginning of
the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be” then it deserves its name ”the great
affliction/tribulation. Because of the ”signature" of the start of the Day
of the Lord is characterized by ” the sun will be
darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from
heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." Because it happens ”immediately after the affliction(/tribulation) of those days” makes it clear that the great
affliction/tribulation and the Day of the Lord are two separate events. The
great affliction/tribulation, therefore, is not the day of the Wrath of the
Lamb, or the Day of the Lord, and the Day of the Lord is not the great
affliction/tribulation. These events are separate and one follows the other.
There are other parallel events, as well. The great affliction/tribulation is
the period “of scattering the
power of the holy people” (Dan.12:7b) and will last ”And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was on the waters of
the river, when he held up his right and his left hand to the heavens
and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times,
and a half. And when they have made an end of scattering the power of the holy
people, all these things shall be finished.” (Dan.12:7) It will last 3 1/2 years, equal,
or almost equal, to the period of the reign of the beast. ”And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he
was given authority to continue for forty-two months.” (Rev.13:5)
Therefore, interpretations that maintain that the great affliction/tribulation
and the Day of the Lord are the same thing, that the great
affliction/tribulation has the duration of 7 years or that the rapture will be
before the period of the great affliction/tribulation, need to be reviewed.
