The range of events
An expression points to consider the extension of the events. In some cases
there is a distinction between the extent of what happens on “earth ” or "
worldwide”, eg: "to the kings of the earth and of the whole world” (Rev.16:14).
The ”earth" may have local significance in some passages opposed to ”the
whole world" which refers to global events. It may be that events or
disasters, contained, particularly in the Trumpets, are referring to local
events only, especially on Israel and its allies. In the case of the pale
horse, it seems to refer to the range of 4000 km in length, by which the army
of 200 million is moving to the Euphrates river, and not the whole world. This also
can apply to many other events that seem to cover the whole world when in fact they
are local events only, even if they report that ”all waters", ”all grass",
“all dry", etc..
Another clue comes from: “For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have
spoken. Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of
Israel, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of
the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on
the face of the earth shall quake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown
down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.” (Ez.38:19-20) Ezekiel states that God said: “a great earthquake in the land of
Israel” and John reveals: “And
there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great
earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men
came to be on the earth. And the great city was divided into three parts, and
the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before
God, to give her the cup of the wine of the anger of His wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains
were not found”. (Rev.16:18-20). Both passages refer to the same event, I
suppose. Well, Israel has no islands. If God said “every island fled away, and the mountains were not found” does it
mean “from the whole earth, i.e. globe”? or does it mean “from the region”?
Another element
about the range, or extention, of events can be deducted from: ”And then the
sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens, and then all the tribes
of the earth will wail, and they will see the Son of Man coming on
the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Mat.24:30) To my
understanding, the tribes mentioned here refers to the tribes of Israel and
“the earth” refers to the middle east and not the whole earth. “And I will pour
on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit
of grace and supplication. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced;
and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter
over Him, like the bitterness over the firstborn”. (Zec.12:10) Compare the two scripture underlined
passages above.
The Millennium
“And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to
them; and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their
witness to Jesus and for the Word of God, who had not done homage to the beast
or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their
hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the
rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished.
This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the
first resurrection. Over such the second death has no authority, but they shall
be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” (Rev.20:4-6)
“And a Branch shall go out from the trunk of Jesse, and a Shoot shall
grow out of his roots. - And righteousness shall be the waistband of His loins,
and faithfulness the waistband of His heart. The wolf also shall dwell with the
lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young
lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow
and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion
shall eat straw like the ox. And the nursing child shall play near the hole of
the adder, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the viper's den. They
shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain; for the earth shall be full
of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the
