The Temple
Every year, usually at Easter time, I believe it is the Temple Mount Faithful supporters, drive around the temple mount
with a truck loaded with one foundation stone for the start of the construction
of the temple, trying to put it in place on the court at the Temple Mount. This
area is currently dominated by the Muslim Al Aqsa and Dome of Rock shrines. The
moslems currently do not allow any Israeli presence on the Temple Mount. Many
think that the two Muslim shrines must be removed before the temple can be
built but, according to “leave out the court which is outside the temple, and
do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles” (from below) the two will stand besides the jewish temple. Both,
Ezekiel and Revelations report on a future Temple. Is it the same Temple? ”And he measured
the court, one hundred cubits long and one hundred cubits wide, foursquare. And
the altar was in front of the house." (Ez.40:47) When
will this temple be built? After the Day of the Lord “When I have
brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of the lands of their
enemies."
(Ez.39:27a) So in the end times, before the Day of the Lord.
In Revelation we read about the Temple: ”And I was given
a reed like a staff. And the angel stood, saying, arise and measure the temple
of God, the altar, and those who do homage there. But leave out the court which
is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the
Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.”(Rev.11:1-2)
The two passages, therefore, refer to a future Temple. The difference is,
especially in the detail of the court. Ezekiel reports: ”measured the court" (Ez.40:47)
John, however, received order to: ”leave out the court which is outside the temple, and
do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles." (Rev.11:1b)
I therefore conclude that there are two different temples. The Temple that Ezekiel
describes will be built ”When I have brought them back from the peoples" (Ez.39:
27) and this happens after the Day of the Lord: ”And righteousness shall be the
waistband of His loins, and faithfulness the waistband of His heart. The wolf
also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child
shall lead them.”(Is.11:5-6) God of Israel gather the israelites from all the land
after the beginning of the millennial kingdom, which will follow the Day of the
Lord “Behold, the day of Jehovah comes, and your spoils
shall be divided in your midst. For I
will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem. And the city shall be
captured, and the houses plundered, and the women ravished. And half the city
shall go into captivity and the rest of the people shall not be cut off from
the city.” (Za.14:1-2)
This will happen during the tribulation. But after the great tribulation and
after the Day of the Lord, however, “And He (the Lord) shall lift up a banner for the nations, and shall gather
the outcasts of Israel and gather together the scattered ones of Judah from the
four corners of the earth.”(Is.11:12).”And Jehovah shall be King over all
the earth. In that day there shall be one Jehovah, and His name one. All the
land shall be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. And
it shall rise and dwell in its place, from Benjamin's Gate to the place of the
First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananeel to the king's
winepresses. And they shall live in it. And there shall never again be utter
destruction, but Jerusalem shall dwell safely.” (Za.14:9-11)
If the Antichrist sits in the Temple early in Daniel 70th week, as many would have us believe, as John
was to ”measure … and those who do homage there”? I is
unthinkable that any Israeli will worship in the temple, worthy of awakening
the attention of God, if the self-declared god antichrist is sitting there.
This passage is after the 6th Trumpet. Therefore, until the period
of the 6th Trumpet the Antichrist is not yet based in the Temple and
did not self-proclaim himself as god, that is, has , not yet been revealed,
i.e. unveiled. Because of the fact that there still will two temples be
constructed implies that the first temple will be destroyed before the second
is built. It is unthinkable that the temple desecrated by the antichrist can be
re-consecrated to God.
The greatest earthquake in ever
"And the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the
air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of Heaven, from the throne,
saying, It is finished! And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings;
and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not
occurred since men came to be on the earth. And the great city was divided into
three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was
remembered before God, to give her the Bowl of the wine of the anger of His Wrath.
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.” (Rev.16:17-20)
This is the Day of the Lord which follows after the period of the great tribulation.
The great tribulation is basically the work of men. The Day of the Lord is the
work of God. At the above passages the time of men’s evil works almost over.
They have destroyed spiritual Babylon, probably about 3 ½ years earlier. This
is the moment of the destruction of commercial Babylon. It will be destroyed by
God, even, possibly through human acts, at the beginning of Day of the Lord.
“And Jehovah shall go forth and fight against those
nations, like the day He fought in the
